Feeling crap - please give sympathy generously....

Well my diary update really will be a short one this
week – have only done one run since my last entry.
Not through choice either – have been feeling shocking
so no running done since last Tuesday club night (not
that you can really call that running either!) So
last Tuesday we ran up towards Spott, turning off to
run up Brunt hill and then back down to the club. My
legs were a bit achy (ok on the really hilly bits they
were burning) and all I think is that it must have
been a while since I’ve done hills and that maybe I’m
not running so well at the moment. Plus I’m not that
good in the heat and it was 27C + when setting off.
Ignored the fact that actually I felt a bit shit on
the train on the way home…..ooops.

Well as I discussed with Sheila sometimes you feel a
bit shit cos you have been working hard and can’t be
bothered and sometimes maybe your body is trying to
tell you something, and it can be hard to figure out
which is which. I’ll maybe try harder next time
though….. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were spent
trying not to puke with an appetite returning Saturday
morning, alongside some slight nausea and stomach
cramps. My thoughts are mild heat exhaustion or
whatever, as stupidly had been sitting out in the
midday sun at work for a meeting, boiling my blood but
not stating this so we could move into the nice air
conditioned building. Then I tried to run…..

So at least my legs have had a well deserved rest,
hopefully I’ll still be able to run when I give it a
go on Tuesday. It’s meeting night so at least it will
be only a short one. Also seeing as I wouldn’t have
been able to run on Saturday I’m quite glad I went to
the airshow rather than Musselburgh. The parachutists
alone were worth it - phwoar

Also more news on the baby front – Clarissa’s baby
arrived (with a bit of cajoling) so we now have two
new juniors – Holly (Clarissa’s) and Aidan (Karen’s).
I guess I’d better stop feeling sorry for myself as I
bet Clarissa had a worse time of it than me….
